The world was rocked this morning following news of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, the longest serving monarch’s 70 year reign coming to an end. Despite reports that she was under medical supervision and had experienced significant health issues, including contracting COVID-10, throughout 2022, the news has still shocked all corners of the globe, with countless tributes and condolences trickling in by the minute.
Leading the charge on the Aussie front is PM Anthony Albanese, who issued a statement this morning on the unfortunate news, writing, “With the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, an historic reign and a long life devoted to duty, family, faith and service has come to an end. The government and the people of Australia offer our deepest condolences to the royal family, who are grieving for a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother – the person whom for so long was their greatest inner strength.”
“This is a loss we all feel, for few have known a world without Queen Elizabeth II,”
