Following taking over the art world last year and generating more than $250 million in sales in the first week of January alone, it seems NFTs are on the verge of exploding in the world of music festivals, with the first NFT-gated art and music festival recently announced.
Taking place over March 18th and 19th in Las Vegas entertainment district AREA15, the festivities are being thrown by NFT art, music and creator community Afterparty, and will be headlined by none other than The Kid LAROI and The Chainsmokers. They’ll be joined by an additional 25 acts along with more than a dozen of the world’s biggest NFT artists, with the remaining lineup set to land any day now.

Esteemed NFT artists Nate Mohler and Alec Maassen will be co-piloting the digital artwork aspect of the festival, which is set to create an immerse experience for attendees through the merging of NFT shows, music performances and metaverse experiences. To top it off, the pieces will be brought to life via 4K and 8K displays at human scale.

Sounds pretty futuristic, right? It is, and the price of admission is equally so, with the price of admission being Afterparty’s generative Utopian NFT, which not only works as a digital artwork on its own but acts as an all-access festival pass, and offers exclusive artist-experiences for attendees. There are 1,500 Utopian NFTs up for grabs from the collection, with each one exclusively five-minted and live on the Ethereum blockchain forever.
Looks like 2022 will continue to be the year of the NFT, and more specifically, the NFT festival. Check out the ominous lineup poster below and keep an eye out for the full lineup drop.
