Huntsmans definitely aren’t the harmless spider…
After swarms of Huntsman spiders rose from above ground to escape the cooked floods last week, it now seems they’re on a bit of an anger streak, and they’re taking it out on us humans. And luckily for us, one such interaction has been caught on film, serving as a cautionary tale for the Arachnophobes among us to, well, stay the fuck away from the creepy crawleys.
Thus, Metui Tongatua in Queensland was holidaying when he spotted the eight-legged terror (a fucking huge one at that) crawling up his quad bike. Most of us would run the other way, but old mate decided to get close and started filming. After a little sussing his prey out, the supersized spider full launched itself at Metui.
Naturally, the next part sees him scream his ass off and the video cuts out. But don’t worry, old mate survived, thanks to the fact that Huntsmans aren’t venomous. But still, any spider that will launch itself like that at a human is enemy number one in my book.
