Featuring an Aussie favourite in the title role…

CBS has finally dropped the new trailer for the Silence Of The Lambs sequel series Clarice, and it’s equal parts eerie and haunting. Picking up one year after the events of the 1991 film, the series follows FBI agent Clarice Starling as she returns to her home of West Virginia as she takes on a new case, but naturally is still reeling by the events that took place in Silence Of The Lambs, you know, mainly her nearly dying at the hands of Buffalo Bill.

The trailer (set to a spine-tingling cover of John Denver’s ‘Country Roads’ by Brandi Carlile) sees Clarice struggling to reconcile her new identity with that of her old life. It’s a pretty interesting perspective seeing her go from the events of the first film back to her old-town, but still not getting the praise she’s due when it comes to detective work. However, things prove to be equally mysterious in West Virginia, with a new mystery set to shake up the town is one that only she can solve.

In a fun piece of Aussie news, the title character of Clarice is played by none other than Aussie favourite Rebecca Breeds, who played Ruby on Home and Away nearly ten years ago. Since then she’s gone on to star in The Originals, Pretty Little Liars and and numerous more shows. She looks super comfortable in the new role, and no doubt she’ll kill it just as hard.
